Although more skilled people will probably feel comfortable simply editing the templates in Movable Type there is a really nice plugin (which is now part of the core) to handle the installation of new themes. It's a hell of a lot more graceful than anything offered by other CMS.
For Movable Type 3.* you should download and install Stylecatcher and then browse styles online. While MT4 users already have this functionality built in.
